Motorcyclist Arrested After Striking Parked Car

A 45-year-old Sandys man was arrested yesterday [June 27] on suspicion of impaired driving after smashing into a parked car in Sandys.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 8:45pm on Wednesday June 27th, police responded to a report of a collision on Somerset Road near the junction with Scotts Hill Road in Sandys. It appears that a motorcycle was travelling along Somerset Road when it collided with a parked car.

“The rider, a 45 year old Sandys man was injured and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was treated and released. The Sandys man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and later bailed. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.”
