Partial Front Street Closure For Asphalt Paving

June 28, 2012

On Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1, Front Street will be closed to all traffic between Parliament and King Streets to allow asphalt paving to take place.

Traffic traveling west on Front Street will be diverted onto Parliament Street to Church Street for access to east Hamilton and beyond. Traffic traveling into Hamilton along East Broadway will be diverted up Spurling’s Hill to Reid Street and into the city.

On both days, motorists and pedestrians will have access to the Number 8 Car Park, the supermarket, restaurants and other shops in the immediate vicinity. There will be signage in place providing additional directions.

Additionally, on Sunday, July 1, between 6:00am and 9:00am the traffic lights at the junction of Church Street and Bermudiana Road will not be operational while work is carried out in the area. Motorists are asked to use extreme caution at the junction.

“The City apologizes for any inconvenience these works may cause,” said a City of Hamilton spokesperson.
