Weather: Harbour Nights Cancelled Tonight

June 6, 2012

This evening’s [June 6] Harbour Nights activities have been cancelled due to the inclement weather.

A Bermuda Chamber of Commerce spokesperson said, “It is with regret that The Chamber has had to make the call and cancel this evening’s Harbour Nights activities. The decision to cancel the popular Wednesday night event is never taken lightly but is always based on the safety of our vendors and guests.

“The Bermuda Weather Service is forecasting high winds and a thunderstorm warning has been posted. Based on this information we felt we had no alternative but to cancel this evening’s event. Hopefully our production partners Great Sound will be able to rebook the formidable talent scheduled to perform tonight.”

The Bermuda Weather Service forecast for today says, “A frontal boundary will be semi-stationary over the area for the next few days, bringing rain showers and isolated thunderstorms through the area. Strong winds and gale force gusts are expected to remain into Thursday morning.”

Oh no! What! no outdoor fun tonight…!

It’s time for our Bermuda Convention Center, so when that weather wants to act up, our vendors, entertainment, food and fun, can all be enjoyed inside like at the Orange County Convention Center, FL and Vegas, etc., with hotels and shops adjoining.

Let’s go Morgan’s Point! Bring down those great people from Dubai to build up that area quick like they did their tourism areas!

    Feel the Love Bermuda….
