Bermuda U/20 Football Team Defeat Barbados

The Bermuda Under/20 football team ended their run at the CONCACAF Under/20 Championships in Puerto Rico on a high note, defeating Barbados 2 – 0 this evening [July 29].

At the half the score was 0 – 0, with Bermuda coming out strong in the second half and scoring two goals. Jordan Darrell raced down the left hand side in the 83rd minute to whip the ball across for Lejuan Simmons to plant home.

Tre Ming made the score line more comfortable coolly slotting home Bermuda’s second goal of the match. Marco Warren worked well to disposes a Barbadian midfielder and drove towards the eighteen yard box then slipped Shannon Coddington in behind the defense who squared to Tre Ming who scored Bermuda’s second goal.

Bermuda’s starting lineup was Dale Eve, Daniel Andrade, Rahkeem DeShields, Dominique Williams, Jordan Darrell, Rico Wells, Demetre Daniels, Marco Warren, Quadir Maynard, Dunte Albuoy and Robert Rawlins. substitutes Winston Trott, Lejaun Simmons, Kashi Jones, Okera Bascome, Shannon Coddington, Tre Ming and Chikosi Basden.

The match was effectively for third place as both teams were already eliminated from qualification, however pride was at stake for both squads as Bermuda came out on top and finished third in the group behind Haiti and Puerto Rico.
