I pray that the gentleman that was injured on the motor cycle will be ok and makes a speedy recovery. I am interested in knowing if the Jet Ski trailer was licenced and insured to be on the road which is required under the Motor Car Act 1951 and Motor Car Insurance (Third-Party Risks) Act 1943. This would mean that that trailer would have to have been tested at TCD passed for road worthiness and that the vehicle pulling it has the braking capacity to stop both the vehicle and the trailer. (Failure of such should of course result in a $750.00 fine for it being unlicenced and a court appearance with a likely fine of $1000.00 for it not being insured!) I pray that it was insured as the injured parties medical expenses should not be borne by his insurance company but that of the person pulling the trailer. I hope that all the people that think it is ok to just hook up your Jet Ski trailer to the back of any vehicle for your leisurely weekend hobby are paying attention and abide by the law and save yourself a major headache and possible lawsuit!

All the best to the accident victim, Bermuda is rooting for your recovery. I too hope that all the legalities for towing were in place, but sometimes bad things just happen. This was afterall an accident and not a malicious intentional act, no doubt given the grave injury sustained by the victim, the driver will have to live with the guilt of what he could have done better to secure his load, for the rest of his life.

We could all do with reducing our speed a bit as our high powered oversized cars leave very little room for error on our tiny roads in which few have been expanded to accommodate them, this is not to imply that speed was a factor in this event.

Tomorrow it could be anyone of us in a similar situation. We just never know…
