Visitor Airlifted Overseas After Scooter Crash

The 44-year-old American woman who was injured in a rental scooter crash on Monday on Somerset Road has been airlifted overseas for further medical treatment.

A police spokesperson said, “At last check this morning [May 16th] the 44-year-old American woman hurt in a single vehicle rental scooter crash around 6:50pm Monday, May 14th on Somerset Road in Sandys parish, near the junction with Morgan Hill, had been airlifted overseas for further medical treatment.

“She was initially admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and was listed in stable condition yesterday [May 15th].

“Inquiries continue and any witnesses that have not already come forward are still asked to contact Constable Keola Thompson on the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
