hmmm, guess i can say it…a fine piece of police work

    • Unbelievable says:

I’ll reserve my comment until after the right charges are laid, a conviction has occurred, and a relevant sentence other than 12 years is handed out…..

  3. Drastic Measures says:

What about introducing a 10-20-Life Rule? Automatic 10 years without the possibility of Parole for possessing a gun, Automatic 20 years without the possibility of Parole for firing the gun and an automatic Life without the possibility of Parole if the bullet his someone regardless of if its fatal or not…
And any other charges can run consecutive to this sentence. BTW Someone needs to Remove Consecutive from the Magistrates Dictionary of words!

    • Drastic Measures says:

Correction that should say Someone Needs to Remove CONCURRENT from the Magistrates Dictionary of words!

    • iBleedRED says:

      Im with it!

    • Eugene Raynor says:

Drastic Measures, welcome to my way of thinking, as things get worse so should the punishment, but I don’t see the measure of guts in the community to deliver deterrent level penalties. Life for Life no questions asked, consider parole after half the term not in the Defence make-up.
I think you mean keep consecutive and dispense with concurrent which means at the same time.
We all need to stop making excuses for perpetrators and hold people responsible for their decision making – eg: Don’t blame the road for your bad driving.

Bermuda Law enforcement officers need to study Louisiana’s Angola
Prison. Angola is the largest maximum-security prison in the USA and at least 90 percent
of its inmates will die there. No chance of parole or ever seeing the outside world again.

  5. M.P.Mountbatten JP says:

We can pray that the recovered firearm could be linked to some of the more horrendous crimes that have recently taken place in Pembroke .

  6. everything is not always as it seems says:

Um it never said the fire arm was found in their possesion it said gun was seized after armed robbery last I checked you are innocent until proven guilty we Bermudians needs to stop jumping to conclusions and it can be possible that the person or ppl that was arrested was actually in their own neighborhood entering their own vehicle that looked similar to the real offenders…

    • Tee says:

Island too small. Always some idiot gonna be over protective of their criminal loved ones……. Oh he’s so innocent….. GUN WAE SEIZED DURING ARREST E$$ HOLE

    • Kathy says:

Um Um – it should be “guilty until proven innocent” – that is the problem in Bermuda – we are too like North America! Give ‘em lots of chances because they just “might” be innocent.

    • Mad Dawg says:

They’re dangerous criminals. Lock them the hell up.

  7. Opressed says:

    Bring back the rope!

  8. Fry I says:

Innocent till provn guilty. They can say “ya i ran in his house with his gun” Specially if they dont have any finger prints. Lawyers work magic

    • Mad Dawg says:

Well, unfortunately even if there is hi def video of the accused doing the crime Bermudian juries have a tendency to wimp out when it gets to verdict time. Hich is why trial by jury should be done away with in Bermuda.

  9. braindead says:

thanks to plp the criminals who are ten percent are now in Command! and the 90% are too scared to do anything..
