Franklin Finishes 3rd In Caribbean Championships

August 23, 2012

Bermuda’s Micah Franklin claimed a third place finish in the Senior Caribbean Squash Championships with a win over Shawn Simpson of Barbados. Franklin went down to Cayman’s Cameron Stafford in a five setter in the semi-finals, but came back strong playing brilliant squash in the Bronze medal game winning in four sets 12-10, 7-11, 11-2, 11-8.

Coach Andrew Mount said, “I have a lot of respect for the way Franklin handled this loss, he wanted to win, but Stafford proved to be the better player on that day. Franklin chose to use the experience and came out firing in the playoff for third.”
