“It’s a Doll’s World” At The Bermuda Arts Centre
The Bermuda Arts Centre is presently hosting ”It’s a Doll’s World” exhibit, which features a number of creative designs from some of the island’s artisans.
A spokesperson said: “We feel very strongly about this show as it has not only offered our artists to express themselves in a totally different medium, but it is for a worthy cause. The Arts Centre is donating 10% of all sales towards The Women’s Resource Centre.
“The idea is the brain-storm of Artist Ami Zanders, who not only came up with the theme of the show, but also the idea of The Women’s Resource Centre. “It’s logical” she explained… “Dolls are predominately female ….”
Some of the dolls featured in the show are below:
“The rules of the show? Well there was only one set – the dolls must be hand made. Give an Artist and open subject such as this, and sit back and watch the creations. We were absolutely amazed at what was handed in for the show.
“We have scary dolls, sweet dolls and some a little in between. But what is certain, is that a whole lot of imagination and thought has gone into making these dolls. We urge people to come out to support this worthy cause and to also see these amazing dolls.”
The participants are:
- Keitha Bassett – ‘Maybelle Voodoo’ – made from recycled cloth.

This looks like a lovely collection of dolls showing much creativity, though I do miss the banana dolls. Well done Arts Centre.
