Olympic Sailing: Kirklands Finish 6th, 10th & 12th

Jesse and Zander Kirkland had their best day so far in the 2012 Olympic Games, recording finishes of 6th, 10th and 12th in the 49er class.

In the first race they recorded their second sixth place finish of the Olympics. crossing the finish line 57 seconds behind winners Lauri Lehtinen and Kalle Bask from Finland. In the second race, they finished 10th – 1 minute and 28 seconds behind winners Tobias Schadewaldt and Hannes Baumann of Germany.

In the final race of the day the Kirklands finished 12th, 1 minute and 48 seconds behind winners Peter Burling and Blair Tuke from New Zealand. Today’s solid performance has seen the Kirklands move up to 18th place in the standings.

    saw 49ner races on-line yesterday…that boat is a beast….fast but very very unstable…..good to catch an occasional quick glimpse of our boat during the races
