Football: Hornets, Vasco & Lock-n-Key Win
Premier and Corona League action took place yesterday [Oct 12], with the Dandy Town Hornets recording a 5-2 win over the Devonshire Cougars in the Premier League, while Vasco and Lock N Key recorded victories in the Corona League.
Premier Division: Devonshire Cougars 2 – Dandy Town Hornets 5
At a rain soaked Devonshire Rec. the visiting Dandy Town Hornets took the lead in the first minute when Fabian Frankson found the back of the net. Angelo Simmons doubled the Dandy Town Hornets lead in the 10th minute and then Damon Ming made it 3 – 0 to the visitors in the 16th minute.
The Devonshire Cougars began a comeback in the 31st minute when Chea Brangman scored. Brangman scored again in the 37th minute to pull the host within one, however Simmons scored his second goal of the game in the 77th minute, before Treadwell Gibbons scored from the penalty spot in the 90th minute to earn the defending League Champions a 5 – 2 victory.
Corona League: Vasco 2 – Lobster Pot 1
In the Corona League opener of the weekend at the BAA Field, Rui Sebestiao and Ricardo Madeiros scored a goal each in helping Vasco defeat Lobster Pot 2-1. Donovan Thompson scored the lone goal for Lobster Pot.
Corona League: Lock N Key 4 – Flanagan’s Onion’s 2
In the nightcap Lock N Key defeated the Flanagan’s Onion’s 4-2. Lock N Key got goals from Chris Furbert, Antwan Russell, Kwame Tucker and an own goal, while the Flanagan’s Onion’s got goals from Andreas Storm and Darren Thomson.
