October 3, 2012

Sixty HSBC Bermuda staff joined Faith Outerbridge this week to visit residents of Packwood Home, Lorraine Rest Home and Matilda Smith Williams Home. The staff volunteers formed small groups to visit senior residents for an afternoon of activities and conversation.

“We recognise our seniors as valued members of our community and we are grateful to spend time with our seniors in a social setting, “explained Faith Outerbridge, Head of Asset Management, HSBC Bermuda. “By focusing on the senior population as part of our community project we hope we can give back to those who gave so much to make Bermuda the success it is today.”

“In addition to having staff volunteer, we are also pleased to be able to purchase much needed equipment for the homes that we are visiting, helping to maintain a comfortable environment for the residents.”

The Staff Community Action Day Volunteer Programme provides all permanent, full time HSBC Bermuda staff with time off from work per calendar year to volunteer for preselected projects. Since inception of the programme in 2006, HSBC staff have dedicated over 7000 volunteer hours in support of education, environment and the general community.
