Thank you CellOne and Digicel, just 364 days a year then that you rip the people of Bermuda off. Cell charges are absurd in this country, the government needs to act.

    • Get A Clue says:

Learn about economies of scale. I’m tired of hearing people complain about prices in Bermuda. They have come down and will continue to come down over time. But you can’t compare prices in Bermuda to prices in other countries as we simply don’t have enough consumers here to warrant similar pricing.

        Tru dat

There is no way the Annex can justify selling a doll for $90 when it can be purchased for under $20 including tax and BDA Duty. Especially when the exact same doll is under $30 in Hunt’s and Arnold’s Warehouse! Hell if they can afford to discount the entire store at 40% then what are they really paying for the item. Because they aren’t selling old or overstocked items. They are fresh off the docks! FYI event at 40% its still $20 cheaper in the local wholesalers. It’s not about understanding economics.. It’s about understanding why retailers are grossly over pricing their merchandise. 7 items on my 3 kid’s Christmas list in the Annex came to $975 the same Items at Toy’s r us is going to cost me with 25% duty a wopping $280. The other items on the list just arent here in the local toy stores. My plane ticket cost me just under $300 and my hotel is costing me $235. Annex is ripping people off!! And just so you know I did buy what I could on the list at the Wholesalers. I do buy into the whole Buy BDA scheme and a $20 mark up is not a painful price to pay in BDA on toys . But when you can charge $60 more than another local store for a toy, It’s Robbery!!! Maybe you need to go back and relearn the economics of scale… Bermudians shouldn’t have to suffer or just go without to save a store down town.. And don’t get me started on cloths! Because it is very difficult to go into a store down town and get kids clothing that aren’t marked with the Big Name Brands. And those items no fancy brand are priced at name brand prices. There is no way that a store should carry a more expensive line of children’s cloths over a cheaper brand. The kids only wear the items for one season! For those of you that are looking for great prices on toys, go to Price Rite, Arnold’s Warehouse and Hunt’s! The prices are more than half of the prices down town for the same items and brands!

  5. Free says:

Read the small print, once you get to the store it’s always a catch. No real deals in Bermuda. Phoenix and P-Tech’s “deals” are pathetic to say the least.

  6. InquiringMindsWannaKnow says:

    What about Gorham’s??

    • Autumn Fire says:

And …Masters, Coopers, Price Rite, Boyles, Marks & Spencer’s, Benettons etc…

  7. I LOVE MY LIFE!! says:

IS THIS REALLY BEING REALISTIC !! “Four Star
Will open at 5am at their Hamilton location, and will be selling 10′ pizzas + water for $5!! Are you SERIOUS!! Who is gonna wanna eat PIZZA at 5 o clock in the morning! That is VERY OPTIMISTIC! I could understand a breakfast place like SPOT opening at 5 A.M. but NOT Four Star Pizza! Ya gonna waste time and money because you are going to be able to count the people on one hand that are gonna wake up at 5 A.M. tomorrow morning to eat pizza! I think you may wanna rethink this one! Ya gonna pay more for the staff than ya gonna make off of selling pizza’s at 5 A.M.! You should have thought this one out a little better! It sounds like a definite “FLOP!” Time will tell!!

    • Autumn Fire says:

Maybe, you can spend $50 and buy 10 boxes of pizza and bless any school class, school, youth group, seniors center, community group, service members (fire, ambulance, police etc) hungry families or homeless! Maybe your friends and/or family can join together – or just take the boxes home, freeze them, and eat the pizza later….

      • lynne harper says:

I wanted to get a cheap pizza and keep it for my lunch or for dinner. I also wanted to treat my students without spending a lot of money on pizza. No, it is not the best, but at that price, it was worth it. I guess they took a risk and it went better than we thought!

    • Get A Clue says:

Bermudians will complain about anything! Is it your business? Order a pizza or don’t. But either way, you have a choice. If they didn’t open, someone would complain that they can’t get something to eat while standing in line. We are such a bunch of whiners on this island.

    • lynne harper says:

Hi. At first I thought the same thimg, but they were very busy this morning. I wanted to get a cheap pizza and keep it for my lunch or for dinner. I also wanted to treat my students without spending a lot of money on pizza. No, it is not the best, but at that price, it was worth it. I guess they took a risk and it went better than we thought! Just my thoughts, not being critical.

  8. Kathy says:

I just love all these Negative Nancy’s……You just cant’s please everyone all the time only some of the people some of the time.

  9. Eyewear says:

Bermuda’s hottest eyewear at mySTique’s is located Ground Fl. Bermudiana Arcade old C-Travel. They have increased there percentages.
    30% 6 – 7am
    25% 7 – 8am
    20% 8 -9am
    15% off 9am – 9pm
    50% off selected items

They also have gifts and funky chairs!

  10. Malachi says:

Maybe it’s me……..but I cannot fathom someone getting up to go shopping at 4:00AM in the morning!!

I guess materialism is an addiction and the vendors know it!

  11. Hungry says:

And if you read the flyer it refers to a 10 foot pizza! my intelligent son pointed that out to me. Get it together Four Star

  12. Say no says:

You think getting up at 4:00 am is stupid. What about the people who are camped out now (as of midday), at Digicel for a midnight sale.

  13. Crazy Eddie says:

There is no such thing as a deal in Bermuda its all a myth. Now Crazy Eddies in NY that was a deal..Anyone remember Crazy Eddies?

  14. HeyBye says:

Continued Americanization of Bda, keep the populace in debt thus controlled.

  15. drunkenUrsula says:

are the liquor stores having a discount sale….burp burp excuse me

  16. Dianne says:

I think what 4star done was brilliant. Even though they have the shytiest pizza on the island, to be the only fast food place open while hundreds of hungry crazy people sit in lines at stores for discounts because they didnt read the fine print. Now hungry people can get a pizza and water for $5 and still afford to pay for the stuff they want down town. In this case, it’s not about a cheap friday night dinner. It’s about catering to those participating in the Black Friday Bermy Style Madness. Lol
