Swimmers Donate Food To Salvation Army

December 11, 2012

Bermuda’s national team swimming team showed they do the island proud both in and out of the pool, as they decided to collect food donations for the Salvation Army in lieu of a ‘Secret Santa’ programme this holiday season.

National Swimming Coach Ben Smith said, “In the spirit of giving back to the Bermuda community, the BASA National Team swimmers decided to collect food donations instead of having a Secret Santa.

Mr Smith continued: “On Saturday at the BASA pool the swimmers presented their gifts to the Salvation Army for distribution to the Bermuda families who find themselves in need at this Christmas time.

“It was heartwarming to see the joy that the swimmers received with the act of giving, and they would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.”
