BermudaXmasTrees Donates $6,000 To Charity

February 5, 2013

Four years ago Bermuda Brickyard Limited owner Peter Schindel felt there was a need to support the youth of Bermuda, and agreed to sponsor and establish a charity, BermudaXmasTrees.

Through the website the charity sells Christmas trees to raise funds for local Bermuda charities that are involved in developing and supporting the Island’s youth.

Mr. Schindel believes that it is important to involve the charities in the annual event. He says, “We do this by asking the young people from the charities get involved in the Christmas tree sales.

“This teaches the children valuable social skills, the need to think on their feet and increases their self-confidence, skills they can use as they grow into contributing members of Bermuda society and for their future career choices”.

Mr. Schindel states that with the conclusion of the fourth charitable year a total of $27,000 has been contributed back to various Bermuda charities.

Mr. Schindel presented the cheques to George Jones of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Bermuda and Patrick Foster of Bermuda Squash Racquets Associations Junior Program.

And TAHT’s why I get all my home beautification goods from Bermuda Brickyard… every recycled brick, every exotic limestone tile, every pizza oven, every board-foot of re-claimed heart pine flooring . . . I know my money’s going to a socially-responsible business.
