Deloitte Takes Accounting Role At BAA

February 20, 2013

Deloitte Bermuda has taken an active accounting role in the Bermuda Athletic Association [BAA]. Since establishment over 100 years ago, the club is a well known part of Bermuda’s sporting community, however has recently encountered high costs and a challenging economic environment.

John Doran, President of BAA, commented: “BAA has become a beacon of hope for Bermuda’s community. We’ve created an atmosphere and facility for everyone. We continue to push the development of our members as we share, collaborate and give back to others. Bermuda needs healthy citizens and responsible community members who engage in honorable behaviour both on and off the field and we are pleased to support that.”

The club hosts several football clubs as well as a football league, and over 200 games per season are played at the BAA field as well as weekly youth games. The association’s full-time Director of Football, Kenny Thompson, is a former National Coach and Player, and has been instrumental in building strategic partnerships with schools and overseas clubs in order to open up avenues which support talented youth who excel academically to continue their overseas sports training.
