Police WCAT ‘Meet & Greet’ Well Attended

March 14, 2013

The officers of the Western Community Action Team [WCAT] said they would like to thank all area residents and members of the public that attended the Police Mobile Command Centre at Somerset Marketplace parking lot yesterday [Mar 13] from 11am to 7pm.

“During the day WCAT officers provided home security advice and other safety tips to residents while encouraging community feedback regarding neighbourhood concerns and potential solutions,” a police spokesperson said.

“Due to the popularity of this event the Bermuda Police Service Community Action Team units will be holding further ‘meet and greet’ information sessions in other areas throughout the island.

“To find out when they will be in your neighbourhood or for more information on the Community Action Teams, please visit the official Bermuda Police Service website at www.bermudapolice.bm.”

Rather than these token efforts, why not ALL CAT officers set up a monthly time and date where they hold a ‘clinic’ like politicians do?
Partner with a local church or school and set up there.
Driving that stupid bus around just looks ridiculous and isn’t sustainable.

So you mean to tell me they had a whole group of police sitting around all day doing nothing?
