BPWA Elects 2013/2014 Executive Committee
On Monday 22 April 2013, the Business and Professional Women’s Association of Bermuda [BPWA] held its Annual General Meeting wherein the 2013/2014 Executive Committee was elected by the members.
BPWA is the local chapter of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women. The organisation’s aims are to develop women’s professional and leadership potential at all levels, with the determination that efforts will lead to equal participation of women and men in power and decision-making roles.
BPWA’s current membership ranges from age 25 and upwards. The Young Business and Professional Women’s (“YBPW”) group is a forum for young professional women to connect and network.
The newly constituted executive committee comprises a diverse group of women from an array of professional and educational backgrounds.
The slate of officers is as follows:
- President – Katie Partington
- 1st Vice-President – Shannah Butterfield
- 2nd Vice-President – Kimberley D. Caines
- Treasurer – Tina Basden
- Recording Secretary – Valerie Cheape
- Corresponding Secretary – Patrice Phillips
- Co-YBPW Chairpersons – Tiffany Boys and Diana Darrell
- Archivist – Ghislaine Lemay
- Immediate Past President – Millissa Butler
President, Katie Partington, expressed her excitement for the talented group of women who have stepped forward to support BPWA this year. Ms. Partington shared that “BPWA has had a local presence in Bermuda since 1975. The foundation that has been laid will undoubtedly provide the springboard for us to take BPWA to new heights this year”. Ms. Partington went on to say that women from all professional backgrounds and ages are welcomed to join.
