British MP Mark Simmonds To Visit Bermuda
Mark Simmonds — Britain’s Minister for the Overseas Territories — will be visiting Bermuda on 25-26 April. This will be the Minister’s first visit to Bermuda.
Government House said that Minister Simmonds will meet the Premier, the Leader of the Opposition and other senior politicians and officials. He will see firsthand how the Bermuda Police Service is working to tackle gang crime, and will also take the opportunity to learn more about both the international business sector and the tourism industry in Bermuda.
Premier Cannonier with Minister Simmonds in London earlier this year:
Minister Simmonds will also have an opportunity to meet the members of Bermuda’s Youth Parliament to discuss the role of the UK in representing the Overseas Territories interests around the world.
Minister Simmonds said: “I am looking forward to my visit to Bermuda this week. As my first visit, this will be an important opportunity to reemphasise the strength of the UK’s relationship with the largest and most prosperous overseas territory.
“My visit comes at an important time for Bermuda, and the Overseas Territories as whole, and I look forward to discussing how we can take forward the government’s commitment to delivering the ambitious partnership agenda set out in last year’s White Paper.”
I’d like to have about ten minutes to chat with him.
Lol
You don’t have to go to England these days!
