Premier & OT Leaders Meet With Prime Minister
This morning [Nov 28] Premier and Minister of Finance David Burt, together with leaders of other Overseas Territories, held a meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May.
“During the meeting the leaders discussed disaster relief recovery, specifically the two hurricanes which ravaged islands this summer,” a Government spokesperson said,
“The leaders took the opportunity to address the long-term sustainability of Overseas Territories impacted by the hurricanes and islands like Montserrat which was devastated by a volcano eruption some 22 years ago and is still dependent on British aid. The leaders discussed solutions and how to move forward effectively.
“Premier Burt and the OT leaders, who are in London this week for the Joint Ministerial Council Meetings, also met with the Foreign Secretary The Rt. Hon Boris Johnson. Talks will continue tomorrow with Whitehall Ministers.”
If only the new PLP would get 100% or near of buses running, education fixed and create new jobs (not just hire in the Civil Service and replace WP holders, Bermuda might start to recover from the previous 14 years of PLP incompetence.
If only the oba was not the same UBP that looks for surrogates.

Bermuda’s Government is about to reverse equality for gays. This from folks whose brothers and sisters fought so hard for their rights. This whose cousins like Rosa Parks refused to sit in the back of the bus.
What Premier Burt’s Government are doing is legislating that gays can no longer sit in the front of the bus. History was made in Bermuda on May 5th 2017 by The Supreme Court of Bermuda granting marriage equality.
In just 6 short months the Progressive Labor Party are rolling back rights for the #lgbtq community in #Bermuda
It’s nothing short of outrageous and a complete affront to human decency.
When a government that calls itself “Progressive” would do such a thing, I am reminded of a quote, as we bang the drum for marriage equality:
“This is what I fight for, this is what I write for. What side of history do you want to be on?”

To STRAIGHTFORWARD. Please set out why the present PLP is so much better than the OBA, and please note I am not an OBA supporter. Nothing of substance to improve the life and work opportunities of Bermudians has been achieved since July, actually the opposite. For example the actions of the Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Tourism have only damaged Bermudians.
David Burt loves to travel. What is the number at now? 4-5 trips since he took office? Must be nice. Make sure you book yourself an ice firstclass seat on British Airways with our tax money. Wouldn’t want you to be uncomfortable while you increase our deficit
Please create jobs and generate inward investment. Sort our schools out.
