CADA: “Know Alcohol Day” To Raise Awareness
Today [Apr 26] is Know Alcohol Day, which CADA Chairman Anthony Santucci said occurs on the last Friday of every April and is the culmination of a month of activities during Alcohol Awareness Month.
“Throughout April, CADA has created activities to raise awareness about responsible alcohol behavior in our community. Our objectives this month were: To Educate the Community about Sobriety Checkpoints, what they look like and what they are designed to do and to Encourage Open Dialogue between adults and young people about not drinking alcohol until at least age 18 and about responsible drinking after age 18,” said Mr Santucci.
Mr. Santucci continued, “Know Alcohol Day is an opportunity to remind the community that drinking and driving is not acceptable in Bermuda. We encourage everyone to remember ABCD, if you plan to consume alcohol Always use Bus, Cab or Designated Driver.
“To that end, we are working with a number of licensed establishments to continue to get the message across. Tomorrow throughout the day and into the night, bar tenders will wear CADA tee-shirts with the ABCD message on it.
“We are excited to announce some of the restaurants and bars who are participating, they include: The Lemon Tree, Docksiders, Flanagan’s, Bermuda Bistro at The Beach and Rosa’s Cantina, to name a few.”
Mr. Santucci concluded, “To find out more about Know Alcohol Day activities, or to learn how to begin the dialogue with your children about alcohol, or to view information about sobriety checkpoints, go to cada.bm”
