Man Admits Stealing $149 Worth Of Steak
In Magistrates Court this morning [Apr 12] 43-year-old Carlton Minors pleaded guilty to stealing $149 worth of tenderloin steak from Lindo’s in Warwick in April 2013.
Prosecutor Carrington Mahoney told Senior Magistrate Archie Warner that Minors was accosted by shop staff as he was leaving the store. Police were called and he was arrested after they found the meat on his person.
The Court heard that additional steak was found on the floor of the Police car after they had transported Minors to Hamilton Police Station.
The Crown Prosecutor told the Senior Magistrate that Minors was currently on probation as well as under a suspended sentence for offences including burglary and stealing.
In dealing with today’s guilty plea, the Senior Magistrate adjourned all the matters to 26th April and Minors was remanded into custody until then.
Minors also pleaded not guilty to two charges of stealing laptops, a camera, and a smartphone, and of receiving a laptop knowing or believing it to be stolen. These two charges were alleged to have occurred because of Minor’s actions between January and March 2013.

I suppose he figured that if he was going to take the risk it’s better to steal tenderloin than hamburger, but to try to justify it as stealing to avoid going hungry? Ridiculous.
Is this the son of the infamous Carlton Minors who back in the 80s was convicted of importation of weed, escaped Casemates and was eventually many months later re-apprehended in North Carolina?
