Antwan Russell Open To Signing With Ilkeston
Bermuda international Antwan Russell — who scored during his second appearance for UK Evo-Stik League Premier Division club Ilkeston on Saturday — has said he is hoping to impress manager Kevin Wilson between now and the end of the season.
Former Dandy Town and Bermuda Hogges striker Mr. Russell told the “Derbye Telegraph” newspaper today [Apr. 12] that his new teammates had made him feel welcome at the English club.
“The way that the lads have been has helped me settle in really easily and I was delighted to get off the mark in my second game,” said Mr. Russell. “I hope that there will be quite a few more to come. The standard of play here is quite high compared to back home and it is definitely more physical but that is the way I like it – I never shy away from that side of the game.
“Hopefully, I can make an impact. I would definitely be open to signing here [next season] but I know I have to impress the manager first.”
Ilkeston plays Kendal Town tomorrow.
