Uganda Team Sort Visa Issues For Bermuda Trip
The Uganda national cricket team is set to fly to Bermuda today [Apr 23], after securing the United Kingdom transit visas required for the trip — visas which they were previously denied.
Ugandan cricket Justine Ligyalingi said they were able to secure the visas on Monday after intervention by the different parties including the British High Commission. The office also waived the visa appeal fees.
“It is now okay and we are focused for the tournament. A contingent of 17 will be travelling to Bermuda in order to have a number of international friendly games ahead of the competition,” Ms Ligyalingi told the Ugandan media.
The Pepsi ICC Division III Cricket Tournament is set to run from April 28 to May 5 in Bermuda, and will include teams from Italy, Nepal, Oman, Uganda, the USA and Bermuda.
