Annual School Poetry Competition 2013 Winners

The Youth Library Teen Advisory Board has announced the Winners of the Annual Poetry Competition 2013. The competition was open to Middle and High School students, and they were asked to create an original poem that fit into one of the themes: Spring, Locked in a Box, New student and Friday.

In the 11-13 Age Group Alys Webber [Saltus] was first, Isabella Wright [B.H.S.] was second and Grace McNamara [B.H.S.] was third. In the 14-18 Age Group Jahlae Albuoy [Berkeley Institute] was first, Keishaun Samuels [Berkeley Institute] was second and Devine Easton [Berkeley Institute] was third.

The Teen Advisory Board is a volunteer program for young people, ages 14 – 18 years of age. The TAB is a lobby group who are interested in developing and advising the Youth Library on teen programs. They help to promote and participate in activities that will encourage young people to read, use the library and generally promote literacy throughout the island.
