June 23, 2013

Saturday night’s [June 22] CellOne Elite City League saw two games played at the Somersfield Academy gym.

The first game saw the Storm take on the Trinity Sound Lions. The Storm were still missing captain Steven Simons, who is out with a knee injury. The Lions kept it close, but in the end the Storm won 62 -53. Top scorers for the Storm were Akil Smith and Jason Simons with 17 each, while Billy Dunn scored 15 for the Lions.

The second game saw the League’s two top teams — the Fort Knox Panthers and the two time defending champion Bluebirds — go head to head with each other, with the Bluebirds taking a 59-48 win. Chris Crumpler scored 31 points for the winners, while the Panthers were lead by Kevin Steven’s 14 points.

Competition continues this Wednesday night at Somersfield as the Trinity Sound Lions take on the Fort Knox Panthers at 6.30pm, while the Outback Outlaws match up against the Robin Hood Warriors at 7:45pm.
