Day #1 Results: ITF Junior Circuit Tournament
The ITF Junior Circuit Tournament got underway at the WER Joell Tennis Stadium with Qualifying matches taking to the courts on Saturday [June 22].
In the opening match of the day it was a battle of Americans as Dimitri Bird defeated Phillip Sivolobov in straight sets 6-0, 6-2.
American Marshall Dagostine defeated Gustavo Denadae Biroche from Brazil in straight sets 6-1, 6-3. American Courtney Jaycen Murphy needed three sets to defeat fellow American Sam Turchetta, Murphy won the first set 6-3, but Turchetta won the second set 6-4, Murphy then closed out the match winning the third set 6-0.
Myles Schalet from the USA was up one set and tied 2-2 against Ambrozy when rain halted play.
