Dine & Dance Cancelled After Health Notification
The West Indian Association announced the postponement of their annual cultural event the “Dine & Dance Around D Caribbean 3″ which was scheduled to be held on Saturday [June 29] at the Bermuda College.
A spokesperson said, “The Association made this difficult decision after receiving informal notification from the Department of Environmental Health on 31st May, 2013, regarding strict enforcement of the statutory provisions of the Public Health (Food) Regulations 1950.
“This late notification has significantly impacted the event’s planning cycle and the model used to execute our event. We are reviewing the concept, delivery and cost of this event which is already significantly subsidized by the Association and donations from local residents and businesses. Like many local charitable organizations, we depend on the support of residents and the business community and we are grateful for all those who have already made commitments to this event.
“The WIA plans to hold this event later in the year and will be advising the public of the new date once it has been established. Anyone who has purchased tickets should contact any member of the Association’s Management Committee for a full refund.
“The Association would like to thank members, friends and the public for their continued and valued patronage of our events.”
