Video: St George’s CC Ready For Cup Match
St George’s Cricket Club President Neil Paynter says preparations have gone very well at the east end club in the lead up to the annual Cup Match Classic and everything is ready to go for tomorrow’s game start at 10am.
Surrounding the field are vendors offering a wide selection of food and refreshments including favourites like shark hash, fish, snowballs, pies and more. Gates open at 6.30am and those wishing seating are encouraged to arrive early as seating availability is on a first come first serve basis.
Youngster Zahn Richardson has been on the pitch helping his dad and club groundsman Calvin Richardson put the final touches to the grassy wicket. Some who have purchased “camps” on the grounds have been busy preparing their spots with carpentry work being done and carpet being laid in some.
I commend all who’ve taken part in getting the grounds and surrounding in “tip top shape”. The field is extremely well manicured and the stands are countless with plenty of seating space available.
Now my prediction, unfortunately for St Georges after so muck work,”The Cup will NOT be staying in St. Georges after Fridays last ball”
Typo: after so much work etc.
