Six Junior Equestrians Compete In Virginia

Six Bermuda junior equestrians competed recently at the LTD Horseshow in Berryville, Virginia. Bettina Truran who is travelling with the youngsters said, “This show included Equitation, Hunters and Jumper classes. By noon it was 93 degrees with the heat index at 102 degrees.

“The kids did a great job competing in such intense heat but by 4.00pm, after waking at 5.00am and having the horses on the road by 6.30am it was decided that the kids and the horses had had enough for the day and they didn’t compete in the jumper portion of the show.”

Courtney Bromby riding French Twist was the Champion Child/Junior/Adult Hunter and Kristen Bean riding Bermuda High was Reserve Champion Hunter. Christian Truran riding Desperado was fifth overall in the Medium Pony Hunter Division and third in the Pony Equitation Division.

Brother Casey Truran riding Partly Cloudy was overall sixth place in the Large Hunter Pony Division and fourth in the Pony Equitation Division.

Lizzy Maderios, who had never ridden Crossroads Special Edition before the competition, successfully obtained a first, fourth and fifth in the Junior/Adult Horse Pleasure Division. Maderios also competed on Major in the Child/Junior/Adult Hunter Division and rode to a third, fifth and sixth placing.

Jesse Soares also competed on Crossroads Special Edition and Major. Crossroads Special Edition was competed in the Child/Junior/Adult Hunter Division and a double fifth placing and sixth placing was achieved.

Jesse also competed this horse in the Child/Junior/Adult Amateur Equitation over Fences class and was fourth. In the Hunter Division where Jesse rode Major she was able to achieve a second and two thirds.

Kristen Bean while riding Bermuda High in the Junior/Adult Horse Pleasure Division received a fourth and two fifth place finishes and in the Child/Junior/Adult Amateur Equitation Bean received a third over fences and a second on Under Saddle.
