Bermuda Rapper Wins BET 106 & Park Contest
[Updated: Lil Quan and Coshaun won with 66% of the vote]
Local rap artist Jeremiah “Lil Quan” Steede will be appearing on BET’s 106 & Park television show this evening [Aug 20] for the finals of the Wild Out Wednesday Summer series.
There will be an online voting segment that Bermudians can participate in via the 106 & Park app which is available free for various smartphones and those interested can vote as many times as they wish.
Lil Quan won has already won two rounds in the contest to qualify for this evening’s finals.
In December 2012, the CedarBridge student won the local talent show “Can U Rip It 2”, and was selected to appear on the 106 & Park show.
In May 2013 Lil Quan, his manager, and local producer Cahill Smith traveled to New York where the teen rapper got his opportunity to appear and perform live on stage, and beat out teen artist Jordan Newt from California as his fans voted him to the top. He made another appearance in July, where he also won the round to qualify him for the finals.
The television show begins at 7pm this evening.
Update 7.17pm: Lil Quan has finished his performance and the voting is now open, which for us can be done through their app, which is free to download [voting screenshot below.] The winner will receive $5,000.
Update 7.58pm: They just announced that Lil Quan and Coshaun won the contest with 66% of the vote.
