Harris & Burchall To Attend South Kent School

The Bermuda Football Association National Academy program announced the enrolment of Tahzeiko Harris and Tyejae Burchall into the South Kent Prep School for the fall of 2013.

Tahzeiko and Tyjae are both members of the National Academy 1999 player pool and were scouted and identified by South Kent Athletic Director and Soccer Coach Owen Finberg as prospects during a visit to the island in February.

Bermuda has a long standing of players who have attend South Kent Prep School over the years. The 5 time New England Champions has seen Bermudians Tre Ming, Shaquille Trott, Shakai Trott, Tahj Bell and Anthony Hunter all grace the soccer field and graduate from the prestigious school. NA member Detre Bell is currently attending South Kent.

In 2011 South Kent finished atop the ESPN National High School rankings.

During coach Finberg’s visit to the island an informational meeting was held for players and parents of the National Academy program to discuss the requirements and qualification standards for college and prep schools admission. Matches featuring the National Academy teams were organized for Coach Finberg to assess the players, during which Tahzeiko and Tyjae caught his eye.

A spokesperson said,”It is exciting that these young men will not only have the opportunity to develop their athletic abilities as a part of the strong soccer program at South Kent, but more importantly are being given the chance to receive a quality prep school education that will enhance their prospect of acceptance into colleges and universities.

“The South Kent soccer program graduates have been placed into top NCAA Div. I, II and III College and Universities on scholarships annually.

“We would like to wish both Tahzeiko and Tyjae all the best in their academic and athletic endeavors at South Kent Prep School, and congratulate them on successfully fulfilling the criteria for admission at the prestigious school.”
