Rai Simons Makes Team Debut For Ilkeston FC
[Updated with video] 17 year old Bermudian Rai Simons made first team debut for Ilkeston FC yesterday after signing a two year deal with the club which will see Simons complete his studies whilst hoping to gain first team football experience with the Derbyshire, UK side.
Bermuda’s Antwan Russell was also on the field for Ilkeston, who defeated Buxton 2-1.
The second half of the game was full of controversy after a scuffle broke out which resulted in a Buxton player getting sent off in 56th minute.
Three minutes later the referee pulled out a second red card, with another Buxton player beings sent off for kicking out at an Ilkeston player who was down on the ground.
The nine-man Buxton solderied on for the rest of the game, with the match ending with a 2-1 victory for Ilkeston.
