Video: “Through the Looking Glass” Preview
Through the Looking Glass – an evening of dance presented by Jaricco Dance – is set to run at the Earl Cameron Theatre in City Hall from August 16th-18th.
Premiering two new works choreographed by Artistic Director Eric Bean Jr., this years work will “take a look at ‘one verses many’; exploring the power found in community and the power of being an individual who fights for what they believe in,” Mr Bean said.
Through the Looking Glass will feature some of Bermuda’s talented local dance artists as well as international guest performers from the acclaimed Koresh Dance Company.
Tickets are $30 for general admission and $50 for patrons with student and group rates available. Showtimes for Friday and Saturday evenings are 8.00pm while the show time for Sunday evening is 7.00pm.
Mr Bean began his training at the age of fifteen under the tutelage of Suzette Harvey and then went on to attend the University where he received his BFA in Dance education.
Currently a member of Koresh Dance Company, he has had the opportunity to work with artists such as Ronen Koresh, Robert Battle (Battleworks & Alvin Aliey American Dance Theatre), Itzik Galili (Galili Dance), Paul Selwyn Norton and Ohad Naherin (Batshavea Dance Company).
In fall of 2010, Mr. Bean was announced as one of the twelve semi-finalist selected to present work in prestigious national choreographic showcase titled The A.W.A.R.D.S. Show; & was recently named the resident choreographer for Eleone Connection – the second company of Eleone Dance Theatre.
The Bermudian dancer and choreographer produced ‘Return to Paradise’ at City Hall in 2011 featuring some of Bermuda’s best young dancers.
