Burglar Caught On CCTV, Pleads Guilty
Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Sept 16], Andre Tucker, 31, pleaded guilty to burglarizing an occupied house on Cavendish Road on Friday 13th September. He was remanded into custody until his sentencing date of 30th October.
Crown Prosecutor Carrington Mahoney told Senior Magistrate Archie Warner that on Friday evening a nine-year old girl in the house began screaming for her mother, shouting that there was a man in the living room. The child’s mother ran into the living room where she saw a man grabbing a handbag and making an escape.
The man escaped by running off and jumping over the wall of a neighbouring house. However, this house had CCTV installed and this action was captured. Additionally, the alerted neighbour saw the man as he made off. Police were called and Tucker was arrested.
After a short interview and Police search of the grounds and bushes near Tucker’s residence, Police recovered all the items except for $900 in US cash and $150 in Bermuda cash that had been in the stolen handbag.
Giving evidence, Crown Prosecutor Mahoney said that Tucker was a fisherman who had five children whom he did not support. However, through Duty Counsel, Tucker disagreed and said that he did work and did support his five children.
Duty Counsel told the Senior Magistrate that she had been instructed by Tucker and that her instructions were that Mr Tucker had a drug habit and that he needed help; and that her further instructions were that Mr Tucker needed support “…because if support is not there at the time of temptation, he says that he relapses.”
The Senior Magistrate ordered Social Inquiry and Bermuda Assessment and Referral Centre reports; set a sentencing date; and ordered Tucker held in custody until sentencing.

Tucker boy stop it man
Our boy tucker is extreamly lucky I wasn’t in the house and caught him. He would have an extreamly extended stay at king edward.
I’d actually be pretty pissed off cleaning blood out of my carpet after my dog drags him around the house by his face….after I call the dog off him…after I called the police…after I microwaved some popcorn…after grabbing a beer…after grabbing a hammer just in case he tries to injure my fuzzy buddy in a futile attempt at escape. Nothing like having 75lbs of raging psycopath around the house to keep the intruders away. If you try to break into my house, you clearly haven’t met my dog.
Tucker boy! Come on man stop the SH**!
So when sexual predators strike, their names aren’t allowed to be published supposedly to protect the victim’s identity. I feel sorry for Andre’s children! By the same token, I would imagine they will be teased or ridiculed at school due to his daft choices.
All his lies whenever he comes to Court. Stop with the Court reports just lock him up and throw away the key.
So we hear about the results of this CCTV while still waiting to hear a reply to a simple question from ministers on the other CCTV…..
Er, no. We got the response immediately from the minister to the stupid questions about cctv. It was working.
Commits the crime on Friday
In court on Monday because a neighbour has their own CCTV
With the power of CCTV evidence, everyone should install it…
Of course some of us ‘the masses’ want to know if any of the money was recovered/returned or did he snort it all in one go?
5 children.. really? If you dont want to be a man and provide for and raise your chilren right so that they dont turn out to be criminals like yourself, where they could potentially become “society’s problem” down the road, then stop breeding!
