Government’s Marine Reserve Proposal FAQ

The Bermuda Government is considering a proposal to establish a marine reserve to protect a portion of the sea around Bermuda, and released a flyer with some of the most frequently asked questions.

The concept is to protect the waters of our Exclusive Economic Zone [EEZ] while allowing for some measure of current and potential marine activities. Our EEZ is essentially a circle with a 200 nautical mile radius that covers approximately 465,000 square kilometres of ocean.
