Photos & Video: Hurricane Fabian Memorial Ride
[Updated with video] The September 5th Foundation held its 10th Annual Remembrance Ride for the victims of Hurricane Fabian today [Sept 1]. The ride commenced at the City Hall in Hamilton and headed east to the Memorial Bench on Kindley Field Road, St. George’s for a short tribute.
The event serves to honour the memories of the four people who were swept from the Causeway by Hurricane Fabian on September 5th 2003; Constable Stephen Symons, Constable Nicole O’Connor, Station Duty Officer Gladys Saunders and Corporation of Hamilton employee Manuel Pacheco.
The ride is organised by the September 5th Foundation, a registered charity, which was formed to create an endowment fund to assist in the post-secondary education of the children whose parents and grand-parents were lost during the tragic events of Hurricane Fabian.
This year the first four-year $50,000 educational scholarship has been granted to Stephen Symons Jr, the son of police officer Stephen Symons.
Deputy Premier and Minister of Public Safety, Michael Dunkley yesterday [Aug 31] laid a wreath at the Memorial for the four who died in Hurricane Fabian ten years ago.

money blowing in the wind again in your face and late at that
For a point of clarification I for one do not want to cast judgment on your comment but would like you to clarify your statement and with specifics so that I and my family can understand what you are trying to say.
My family is one of these families that was hit directly by the tragedy of this hurricane and you may be talking on credible information that I am not aware of, so I for one would be interested in what you mean by money blowing in the wind.
There has been funds awarded to family members to assist in things as far as education, so clarify and I will gladly take my comments further beyond that when you respond.
