Photos/Video: FIFA World Cup Trophy Arrives

[Updated with photos/video] The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy arrived in Bermuda today [Oct 9] and a special unveiling was held with Premier Craig Cannonier, Governor George Fergusson, Opposition Leader Marc Bean and others in attendance.

The largest and longest global tour of the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy, it will visit more countries than ever during its nine-month journey.

The schedule calls for it to visit a total of 89 countries, with some 50 new countries added that have never had the opportunity to host the trophy before.

After Bermuda the tour continues through Central America and the Caribbean until November 7th and from there will travel to Africa, Middle East, Asia, South and North America and Europe, to return to Brazil in late April 2014, in time for the start of the World Cup.

    I won a ticket and went and I don’t know why they wouldn’t let anybody take pictures? So many of us had cameras and this was a let down. I saw online that other countries were allowed to take photos when it was in their country, Jamaica, South Africa etc.
