Photos: Mangrove Hallows Halloween Event

[Updated with video] Hundreds of people made their way to the West End today [Oct 26] as the Bermuda Arts Centre in conjunction with the Somerset Economic Empowerment Zone hosted its 2nd Annual Mangrove Hallows Halloween event in the Somerset Village.

The day involved a host of activities including ‘Skull & Spoon’ races, Pumpkin Carving and a pie eating contest, which was won 13 year old Zaroy Ratteray, a Sandys Secondary Middle School student.

There was also a costume parade, with area MP Michael Scott, WEDCo Chairman Ray Charlton, Cheryl Phillips, and Paul Chambers serving as judges. 3 year old Kelise Wade won the children’s division, while an adult wearing a “Beware I Bite” zombie adult scooped the top prize in the adult’s division.

    Good idea but aimed to the adults more , too much blood and guts. Make it more magical for the kids. They look forward tomHalloween too. Wish you continued success with improvement over time

    I agree with everyone above. Nice idea but there needs to be more things for children to do there. The games I thought were expensive. $2.00 for a single game was a little to much. Scavenger hunt was fun and a great idea!!
