Golf: Amateur Four-Ball Championships Kicks Off

November 9, 2013

The first round of the Bermuda Amateur Four-Ball Championships was played on Friday [Nov 8] at Port Royal in rather challenging conditions.

A fresh breeze off the ocean made it very challenging for the players to keep their ball in play, particularly on #16 the Port Royal signature hole.

However, the best players invariably emerge at the top under such conditions and this was the case today with Jarryd Dillas and Will Haddrell leading the Men’s Championship Flight with a 4 under par gross score of 67. However, they are being closely followed by Jevon Roberts and Mark Phillips who carded a gross 68.

In the Ladies Championship flight the favourites, Ebonie Burgess and Elizabeth Parsons are leading the field with a gross 79. They are being pursued by Sylvia Tavares and Donna Jones who came in with a respectable gross 84.
