Movember Mixer “Cheers To The Moustache”

November 9, 2013

BEPRO-MovemberBermuda’s Emerging Professionals [BEPRO], the young professionals division of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, has joined the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s Movember movement to raise awareness and funds for men’s health during the month of November.

In addition to hosting a special Movember Mixer coined, “Cheers To The Moustache”, at the Flanagan’s Outback Sports Bar on Friday, November 29, in partnership with Heineken Light; BEPRO has registered a ‘Mo Team’ consisting of six dedicated males growing their ‘staches’ in an effort to collect pledges for the cause and one bold ‘Mo Sista’ committed to raising men’s health awareness as well as pledges throughout Movember.

Participants of the BEPRO Mo Team are as follows: Matthew Mills, Matthew Ringer, Damian Pitcher, Lloyd Holder, Lauren Joell, Lionel Darrell, and LaKea Dill. The organization aims to raise a minimum of $500 for the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s men’s health awareness programmes and encourages the community to join the BEPRO Movember movement by pledging their team here.

A BEPRO spokesperson stated, “BEPRO wants to do all we can to shed light on this often overlooked issue that affects so many lives, in support of the fundraising endeavours of the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.

“Our ‘Mo Bros’ will be actively seeking pledges while growing their ‘staches’ and promoting Movember via social media using the #BEPROmovember and word of mouth. They have even submitted photos of their clean shaven faces that have been posted on Instagram and our Facebook group page. We can’t wait to see their progress throughout the month and at the final event!”

BEPRO is passionate about raising awareness for men’s health and is encouraging the community to support their Movember initiative by pledging their Mo Team here, encouraging family and friends to also pledge, and coming out to the Movember Mixer on November 29th. All funds raised from the party will go to aid the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s Local Men’s Health Programme.
