Woolridge Advances To Championship Fight

November 4, 2013

Bermuda’s Jermal Woolridge is one win away from possibly becoming the World Champion following his second round knockout of his opponent at the 12th Wushu Worlds Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Woolridge delivered a head kick knockout blow to Ahmed Samir Abdelmoaz from Egypt. He lost the first round after suffering a number of takedowns, and knowing he needed to go all out In the second round Woolridge decided to leave it all on the mat.

The second round started similar to the first, however it took a turn when Woolridge caught Abdelmiaz with a right round house kick to the head that stunned Abdelmiaz.

Woolridge was able to capitalize on the situation and was able to force Abdelmiaz off the platform. Once Abdelmiaz returned to the platform Woolridge threw another headkick which proved to be the finishing blow as Abdelmiaz went down and was counted out.

Woolridge will take on an opponent from Russia for a spot to be on top of the podium.

Bernews, where’s the pictures of this fella fighting. If I were the premier I would have travelled to see this fella fight in the finals. Well done Mr. Woolridge. A great positive story.
