Twitter Adds Direct Message Photo Sharing
A report on the official Twitter blog has announced that users of mobile Twitter apps for iOS and Android can now send pictures via direct message.
The announcement states, “For the first time, you can share and view photos via direct message [DM] on your mobile phone. We’ve also introduced a new tab in the navigation bar that makes it easy to access DMs – they’re just one tap away from wherever you are on Twitter. You can also view photos in DMs on twitter.com.”
The upgrade to the world’s second most popular social media platform aims to encourage mobile users to utilize Twitter for messaging on the go, saving costs associated with text and media messaging from phone to phone, even while increasing Twitter’s user base.
