Bermuda Gymnasts Heading To Overseas Meet
The Bermuda Gymnastics Association has announced that four female gymnasts and eleven male gymnasts will attend the Abie Grossfeld Invitational Meet in Connecticut over the weekend of January 16-18, 2014.
A spokesperson said, “The participating group of young women will be led by Head Coach Duke Nelligan, and consists of gymnasts who will be preparing for Junior Pan American Championships, Commonwealth Games, and the USAIGC World Championship, all coming up in 2014. Therefore it is a key stepping stone in our preparation for the rest of the year. In just three weeks, these ladies and 6 of their teammates will head to Chicago for another major competition.
“For the boys, this is the first competition of the 2013-2014 season, and the first off-island meet ever for several of our athletes. It will be an exciting event for the team and for Coach Magan Outerbridge, and will serve as a warm-up for the Mid-Atlantic Invitational held at the University of Maryland in early March.”
