First & Premier Division Sunday Football Results

A number of football games took place across the island on Sunday [Jan 12] with footballers in the Premier Division and First Division all seeing action with Robin Hood, Devonshire Colts, St. George’s Colts, Southampton Rangers and North Village Rams all recording wins.

First Division

Boulevard Blazers 1 Robin Hood 2

At the Police Field the First Division League Leaders Robin Hood came from behind to defeat the Boulevard Blazers. Aaron Williams gave the Boulevard Blazers the lead in the 13th minute, but Shaun Brown equalized for Robin Hood in the 70th minute when his low shot went in at the far post, in the 85th minute a cross from the League’s leading goalscorer Jesse Kirkland was blasted home from close range by Gary Adams to complete the comeback and earn all three points.

Ireland Rangers 1 Devonshire Colts 4

At Malabar, Kyle Jones gave visiting Devonshire Colts the lead in the 38th minute, Eli Smith doubled the visitors lead in the 43rd minute, Jared Hayward pulled a goal back for Ireland Rangers when he found the back of the net in the 67th minute. Enrique Wilkin restored the visitors two goal lead in the 85th minute and then Lozendro Symonds scored in the 89th minute to earn the Devonshire Colts a 4 – 1 win.

Paget Lions 0 Young Men Social Club 0

At the Southampton Oval, the Paget Lions picked up their first point of the season when they drew 0 – 0 with visiting Young Men Social Club.

Somerset Eagles 1 X’Road’s 1

At the White Hill Field, visiting X’Road’s went ahead when Tristan Daniels scored, but his goal was cancelled out by a Tokeio Matthie-Crofton strike as the teams went to the break with the score locked at 1 – 1. Neither team could find the back of the net in the second half as the two teams shared the points.

BAA 1 St. George’s Colts 2

At the BAA Field, visiting St. George’s Colts went in front in the 27th minute when Mitchell Tucker found the back of the net, ten minutes later Jarazinho Bassett doubled the lead as the visitors held a 2 – 0 lead at the half time interval. BAA got back into the match in the 67th minute when a St. George’s Colts defender turned the ball into his own goal. The St. George’s Colts were able to hang on for all three points.

Premier Division

Southampton Rangers 3 Devonshire Cougars 1

At the Southampton Oval, the home team Southampton Rangers got goals from Keedai Astwood, Janeiro Tucker and Vernon Perinchief in their 3 – 1 win over the Devonshire Cougars, Drewonde Bascome scored the lone goal for the visitors.

Dandy Town Hornets 2 PHC Zebras 2

Drama at the St. John’s Field as the Dandy Town Hornets came from 2 – 0 down to draw 2 -2 with the PHC Zebras. After a scoreless first half, Malachi Jones gave the visiting PHC Zebras the lead in the 54th minute, Jahnai Raynor doubled the visitors lead in the 69th minute, but just when the PHC Zebras looked as if they would come away with three points the Dandy Town Hornets began their comeback, Treddwell Gibbons converted from the penalty spot in the 85th minute and then Temiko Wilson scored in the 88th to level the score, with the result the Dandy Town Hornets remain on top of the table.

Somerset Trojans 1 St. David’s 1

Justin Corday gave the Somerset Trojans a 1 – 0 in the 11th minute against visiting St. David’s at they Somerset Cricket Club, but Zachary Morris equalized for the visitors as the two teams shared the points, with the Somerset Trojans remaining in second place, but St. David’s fell into one of the relegation spots on goal difference.

Flanagan Onion’s 1 North Village Rams 3

At the BAA Field, Kevin Ronaldson gave the Flanagan Onion’s the lead in the 10th minute, but Pierre Smith equalized for the North Village Rams in the 38th minute. Tyrell Burgess put the North Village Rams ahead 2 – 1 when he scored in the 87th minute and when Jahquan Smith-Deshields scored in the 90th minute it earned the North Village Rams all three points in a 3 – 1 win.
