Man Arrested After Assault On Bus Driver
A 23 year old man was arrested after a bus driver was assaulted by a passenger on Thursday evening, and during the arrest a quantity of suspected controlled drug was seized.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 6:45pm on Thursday, January 9th police officers attended a reported assault onboard a bus in the Middle Road, Southampton area near Industrial Park Road.
“It appears that the bus stopped to let off passengers in the area when the male bus driver was assaulted by a male passenger following an earlier verbal exchange. A female passenger came to the bus driver’s aid before the assailant exited the bus.
“The bus driver apparently sustained relatively minor injuries. The female passenger that came to his assistance was not injured.
“The suspect, a 23 year old Southampton man, was subsequently arrested in the surrounding area in connection with the incident. During the arrest, a quantity of suspected controlled drug was seized. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.”

Exactly, Betty, idots. Idiots who think they will get away with any & everything. Now he faces a double whammy. But we know the sentences will be so light, it won’t be worth the time.
It’s Bad enough when a Bus driver gets attacked while conducting a public service
but it’s real bad today when I see so many decent you man have to suffer because of a few who truly
believe in this type of anti social behavior.
From what I hear the Bus driver told him about his behavior and bad language which he didn’t like so he
decided to attack the Bus Driver.
I’m not one for sending people to jail for simply this and that but this guy needs to be sentenced in Supreme Court put away for no less than 6 years.
I will be looking closely to this case.– and so will others. -

I bet if the bus driver ended up getting the upper hand and beat that thug to a pulp, he would have found himself suspended until further notice. These attacks on bus drivers are not taken seriously by their superiors. Lets wait and see!!!!
