Masterworks To Exhibit Work Of Von Walter

The Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art will be featuring the work of one of its artists in residence, Sonia von Walter, later this month, allowing the talented artist to show off her exquisite work in oils and acrylics.

The exhibit will open at Masterworks on Friday, February 28, with a showing taking place from 5.30pm through 7.00pm.

According to Masterworks, “Russian born, Canadian artist Sonia von Walter, has exhibited her work since 1994, both locally and internationally.

“She works mostly in oils and acrylics, in bold impressionistic style. Subject matter of her paintings vary greatly – from figurative urban scenes and semi abstract compositions to romantic landscapes of France, Italy, Madeira and Bermuda.

“She first came to Bermuda as an artist in residence for the Masterworks foundation in 1998 and since then became a frequent visitor to the island,always finding different sides of Bermuda to inspire her work.

“Sonia von Walter has lived several years on the beautiful Portuguese island of Madeira and then had a gallery in Victoria,BC,Canada. She participated in many international and local group shows and had several solo shows in galleries in Toronto, Paris, London, Positano, Madeira, Victoria and Bermuda.

“Sonia von Walter’s paintings can be found in numerous private and corporate collections throughout the world.”
