Sensei Roots’ Invitational Shiai 19 Results

41 competitors and an enthusiastic crown of parents, friends and martial arts fans celebrated Sensei Root’s Invitational Shiai yesterday [Feb 16] at Pembroke Sunday School.

Forms grandchampions at the black belt level were Anthony Leader for men’s forms, Corey Outerbridge for mens weapons, and Talia Iris for women’s forms.

Junior grandchampions were Jahzion Lugo for novice boys, Javier Franks for intermediate boys, and Ryley Mason for intermediate girls.

In sparring, the boys gold medalists were Dekada Gilbert for 6-7 years, Dean Lottimore for 8-9, and Jahzion Lugo for 10-12. Princess Battersbee took a first place in girls sparring 7 to 9 years, and Ryley Mason won the 11 to 12 age group.

Jahzion Lugo was selected as tournament MVP as the only competitor to contest the three categories of competition offered: forms, weapons and sparring.
