Tonight’s Gaming Town Hall Meeting Cancelled

February 6, 2014

Tonight’s [Feb 6] Town Hall meeting on Integrated Resort Casino Gaming — scheduled to be held at the Pier 6 Complex in Hamilton from 6pm to 8pm — has been postponed due to the ongoing labour dispute, the Government said this morning.

The labour dispute between the BIU and Fairmont Hamilton Princess has brought public transportation to a halt, as Marine & Ports workers and Bus Operators are not working today to support the Union’s stance, resulting in no bus or ferry service. Our live blog of today’s developments is here.

The first Gaming Town Hall was held on February 4th at Penno’s Wharf in St. George’s, and you can watch the full video coverage of the almost 2-hour event here.

Unfortunately this was the right thing to do. One can be sure that the BIU woiuld have been there & outside doing their level best to disrupt the meeting using typical gang behavior.

Because Gov’t can’t walk and chew gum at the same time.

  4. J Starling says:

With the strike now over and workers returning to their positions, will the Government revisit this change of plans?
