Bermuda Amateur Match Play Gets Underway

The first day of the Bermuda Amateur Match Play Championship got underway today [Mar 5] under very pleasant conditions. Blue skies and a temperature of 69 degrees were ideal for golf and a light wind out of the WSW was no problem for the participants.

Ebonie Burgess shot a gross 75 and has taken the #1 seed in the Ladies Championship Flight. In the ladies flight as there were only 13 players, the first three seeds have got byes, Ebonie Burgess, Katrin Burnie and Ann Symonds.

Jevon Roberts and Fraser Hunt both shot 76 and will have a sudden death playoff for 1st place medalist in the Men’s Championship flight.

The #1 seed position is already occupied by Jarryd Dillas as defending champion. In the Men’s Championship flight which had 20 player, the four who did not qualify will play a round robin over the next three days.

In the Senior Championship flight, Craig Christensten had a good round with an impressive gross 73.
